ISLE OF ARRAN.

SCOTLAND 2009.

Rosalind and I took our caravan across on the Clyde Ferry to Arran in the September of 2009. We were on a site/golf course at Loch Ranza where we had been told there was the best chance of seeing Golden Eagles. The information was correct but it was too far for a photograph. We spent half an hour watching as it harassed a herd of Red Deer, trying to get them to run down the hill in the hope one would injure itself.  It was nearing rutting time and there were deer on the roads, on the golf course and the beach. We got photographs of some but they are on my wildlife website along with the pictures of seals.

Close to Arran lie the islands of Pladda and Holy Island.

Pladda is off the southern tip of Arran.

Holy Island is just off the eastern side of Arran. Bad weather spoiled the chance of a good photo.
